Your MYAA Mavericks fundraising
 2011 Irish Fest

Your MYAA has once again been invited to participate in the 2011 Irish Fest!!

The Irish Fest is asking that the MYAA provide volunteers for 60 three to four hour shifts during the Irish Fest Weekend.

Any MYAA member who volunteers and works a shift will have an opportunity to sell raffle tickets for prizes that will be given away during the Irish Fest.  All of the proceeds from selling raffle tickets will be refunded directly to the MYAA members who sell them, up to the cost of your MYAA fees for our programs (Fundraiser/Candy Sales fees are not eligible).

So, if your registration fees cost your family $200, and you sell $200 worth of raffle tickets, you will get a check from the MYAA for $200!

If you sell more than your fees, the MYAA will use the extra money to help offset the costs of running our programs for the kids!

The raffle tickets would be sold by our volunteers from now until late February.  They are sold one ticket for $5.00 or 5 tickets for $20.00.

Last year an MYAA member won the $1000.00 Grand Prize!!

In addition to raffle tickets, if the MYAA is able to fill their request of 60 volunteers, the Irish Fest will share with the MYAA 10% of the net proceeds.  This money will be used to help the MYAA continue to run the programs that we offer for the kids in Manhattan.

Money from this event will be applied to any contributing members participation in any of our 2011 programs.  If you have already paid for a 2011 program, refunds will be made for your participation in the Irish Fest raffle ticket sales.  The amount of money an individual member is eligible for will be limited to the cost of their registration fees for 2011 MYAA programs.

Duties for the volunteers will vary, but can include button sales, beer pourers and clean up.

All Volunteers are Required to purchase a button for access to the event!

See http://www.manhattanirishfest.com/Admission.htm for button information.

To be eligible for a beer pouring position, you will need to be TIPS Trained.  If we can get some of our members to attend the TIPS training, we’ll have a better chance of filling all of our necessary 60 shifts.

The Irish Fest has arranged free TIPS training, information on TIPS training is attached to bottom of this page.

The shift times of the Irish Fest are as follows:

Friday, March 4, 2011

5pm to 8pm  Already Filled
8pm to 11pm

Saturday, March 5, 2010

12pm to 3pm
3pm to 6pm
6pm to 10pm

Volunteers are able to work multiple shifts.

Shift availability and volunteer duties will be handled by the Irish Fest.

Your MYAA is asking that members who are interested in volunteering for the Irish Fest email us at fundraising@manhattanball.comwith their name, phone number, email address and shift availability.  If you are attending the TIPS training, please let us know which session you will be attending.

Volunteers must be a minimum of 21 years old.

This is a great opportunity for you and your MYAA to be part of the Manhattan tradition that is Irish Fest and an even greater opportunity for our members to offset the cost of their family’s registration fees for our programs.

All of our MYAA volunteers do their most to try to provide the programs that our community wants for our kids, in a format that everyone can enjoy. We'd love to hear from you to find out how we're doing and what we can do better in our volunteer efforts. Feel free to post a comment or make a suggestion on how we, or you, can make your MYAA even better!
W. Clement Stone once said that “Self-suggestion makes you master of yourself.” With your help and suggestions, your MYAA hopes to open our eyes to our members ideas and concerns.
