2012 Irish Fest
( www.manhattanirishfest.com)
Your MYAA has once again been invited to participate in the 2012 Irish Fest, and with our newly appointed Chairpersons, we're ready!!
The Irish Fest is asking that the MYAA provide volunteers for 60 three to four hour shifts during the Irish Fest Weekend.
Any MYAA member who volunteers and works a shift will have an opportunity to sell raffle tickets for prizes that will be given away during the Irish Fest. All of the proceeds from selling raffle tickets will be refunded directly to the MYAA members who sell them; up to the cost of your MYAA fees for our programs (Fundraiser/Candy Sales fees are not eligible).
So, if your registration fees cost your family $200, and you sell $200 worth of raffle tickets, you will get a check from the MYAA for $200!
If you sell more than your fees, the MYAA will use the extra money to help offset the costs of running our programs for the kids!
The raffle tickets would be sold by our volunteers from now until late February. They are sold one ticket for $5.00 or 5 tickets for $20.00.
In addition to raffle tickets, if the MYAA is able to fill their request of 60 volunteers, the Irish Fest will share with the MYAA 10% of the net proceeds. This money will be used to help the MYAA continue to run the programs that we offer for the kids in Manhattan.
Money from this event will be applied to any contributing member’s participation in any of our 2012 programs. If you have already paid for a 2012 program, refunds will be made for your participation in the Irish Fest raffle ticket sales. The amount of money an individual member is eligible for will be limited to the cost of their registration fees for 2012 MYAA programs.
Duties for the volunteers will vary, but can include button sales, beer pourer and clean up.
All Volunteers are required to purchase a button for access to the event!
See http://www.manhattanirishfest.com/Admission.htm for button information.
To be eligible for a beer pouring position, you will need to be TIPS Trained. If we can get some of our members to attend the TIPS training, we’ll have a better chance of filling all of our necessary 60 shifts.
The Irish Fest has arranged free TIPS training, but it is scheduled for tomorrow (01/25/2012) night, so you will need to act fast if you want to be a beer pourer at the fest. Information on TIPS training is attached to this email.
The shift times of the Irish Fest are as follows:

Your MYAA is asking that members who are interested in volunteering for the Irish Fest email us at fundraising@manhattanball.comwith their name, phone number, email address and shift availability. If you are TIPS trained, please let us know that as well.
Volunteers must be a minimum of 21 years old.
This is a great opportunity for you and your MYAA to be part of the Manhattan tradition that is Irish Fest and an even greater opportunity for our members to offset the cost of their family’s registration fees for our programs.
